May 2024 Update

We’ve been very busy the last few months. A few of our moms have moved on to other housing opportunities or have returned back to their hometowns.

I’ve received numerous phone calls since the last update, but those inquiries are rarely followed through for a variety of reasons. It's always difficult knowing what is going on in the lives of the callers, especially when they don’t call back. But we are here to provide support if they are willing to follow our covenants.

We do have a new client who moved in at the end of March. I'm happy to announce she had her baby boy on May 3rd. See the picture below. May many blessings from our Creator come to Baby N and his mother. He’s the fifth baby born with Mary's Haven. Praise God!

I've discovered there are a lot of ups and downs in this kind of ministry, but when I go to the hospital to see the newest little one, it makes all the ups and downs worth it.

For anyone who might be in Roanoke on Saturday May 11, Mary's Haven is having a gathering at the Basilica of St. Andrew's Social Hall from 11:00am to 1:00pm. We will be speaking about our work with single, pregnant moms and how we as Christian women can share with them our life experiences mother to mother and woman to woman. A light lunch will be served.

Please consider volunteering for this ministry. We’re always looking for mentors who can help our young women.
